About

At nonnonbotanicals, we cherish a lifestyle inspired by our "ancestors" those who once lived in perfect harmony with the earth. Founded by Nozomi Maupin, our brand serves as a bridge connecting time-honored traditions with modern wellness. To nurture the body, mind and soul, Nozomi carefully handcrafts every single product, drawing upon ancient recipes she has cultivated throughout her lifetime.

From balms infused with medicinal herbs from Mount Shasta to clothing created using natural botanical dyes, each small-batch product we produce is a gift designed to invite healing for both the body and soul. Our mission extends beyond simply offering products; driven by a desire to foster a world where humanity coexists with nature, we also share insights into traditional Japanese fermented foods, home gardening, and medicinal herbs. At our base near Mount Shasta, we host workshops—such as those on eco-printing—providing opportunities for genuine human connection while sharing the wisdom of living in harmony with the natural world.

STORY

Founder Nozomi Maupin, she was born in Nagasaki, Japan tucked between the whispers of the forest and the rhythm of the ocean. Her childhood was a peaceful one, surrounded by a loving family and the healing power of waterfalls and rivers. But Nagasaki also taught her the weight of history. Meeting those who survived the atomic bomb planted a seed in her heart: a deep, quiet longing for world peace and for every soul to live in happiness.

As she grew, she followed the bright lights of  New York and Los Angeles. For ten years and lived the city dream, but slowly and unconsciously, she began to lose herself. In the noise of competition and the pressure of social media, her self-love faded. She was a fish in a small pond, forgetting the vast ocean she came from.

Her turning point was Mount Shasta. Standing among its ancient trees and pure waters, She felt a profound homecoming. Like a fish returning to the river, she remembered who she was. She returned to her grandmother’s recipes, rediscovered the wisdom of her Japanese heritage, and began to honor the ancient people who lived in perfect harmony with the earth. Through meditation, breathwork, and the mirror of marriage, she learned a vital truth: Loving yourself is the beginning of loving nature and others.

Today, through nonnonbotanicals, she share this lifestyle of natural cycles. By purifying our bodies and minds through traditional ferments and herbal care, we return to our true selves. When we connect back to nature, we find the peace the world so deeply needs.
